Read More	Mrs. John Darcy Jr. Died on Sunday last Mrs. John Darcy Jr., aged 34 years, 2 months and 25 days, died at her home three miles southeast of Creighton on Sunday, April 29, 1917 of peritonitis, following an illness of a week. The above announcement will be received with sincere regret by a very large number of people in this section, because the deceased was widely known and much beloved by all of her acquaintances. The record of her life was written in her kind deeds, her broad charity and her benevolence in the community in which she lived and that a noble woman, a true friend and a loving wife and mother has gone to her reward, is fully realized by her kindred and her friends. Mary Schwartz Darcy was born in Carroll, Ia., February 7, 1883 and passed her girlhood and young womanhood in that community. She was married February 26, 1908 to John Darcy and shortly after began her life on the farm of her husband. She became at once interested in the upbuilding of the best home interests of that part of the county and remained active in all that was for the mutual good, until the day of her final illness. She is survived by her husband, together with three children, a daughter, Evelyn, aged 8, Helen, aged 4 and Elmer Frederick, aged 5 weeks, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schwartz, eight brothers, Joe, John, Henry, Lee, Will, Ed, Elmer and Ernest Schwartz and two sisters, Mrs. F.C. Preston of Omaha and Miss Lillian Schwartz of Creighton. The funeral was held from the Catholic church in Creighton on Wednesday last at 10 o'clock a.m. and was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends. The eight brothers acted as pallbearers and many beautiful flowers testified to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Rev. Father Windolph delivered a touching and appropriate funeral address and a large concourse of vehicles followed the remains to their final resting place in Creighton cemetery. ...The Creighton News 3 May 1917
