Mrs. Simpson died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence. She had been a resident of Lawrence from 1952 until 1972, when she moved to Eudora. She was born July 31, 1924, in Detroit, Kan., the daughter of Harvey M. and Lettie May Turk Klamm. Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker, and taught school near Abilene for a few years. She was a member of Free Methodist Church in Lawrence. She married James R. Simpson on June 3, 1943, in Detroit, Kan. He survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Robert Leon Simpson, Topeka, Ronald Richard Simpson, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Roger Eugene Simpson, Goleta, Calif.; three sisters, Reva H. Lutz, Abilene, Irene V. Brenner, Navarre, and Vera C. Haas, Fort Worth, Tex.; a brother, Glenn H. Klamm, Lynchburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary. The family suggests memorial contributions to Free Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Assn., sent in the care of the mortuary. LJWorld
