Description	:	Mrs. M.E. Booton died at the home of her son, Harry N. Brandall, editor of The Tribune, Tuesday, February 6, at the age of eighty-nine years. Death was due to senile pneumonia from which she had suffered but six days. Mrs. Booton was remarkably active for one of her years, both in body and mind, and was a great student of the day's news as found in the daily newspapers, which she read with keen interest. She retained her mental faculties up to the last hours of her illness, and passed away in a peaceful sleep of several hours'... Read More	Mrs. M.E. Booton died at the home of her son, Harry N. Matilda Evelyn Nelson, daughter of Lewis and Eliza Nelson, was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, July 8, 1833. With her parents she came to Illinois when a child, living near Galesburg until her marriage with James N. Brandell, March 30, 1853. Soon after the marriage they came to Iowa and settled in Keokuk county. Six sons, two of whom died in infancy, were born to them; of the remaining four, Harry N. Brandall of Fairfield survives. Following the death of her husband in 1873, Mrs. Brandall was married to W. S. Booton, and in 1895 they moved to Fairfield, where Mr. Booton died June 27, 1912. Since that time, Mrs. Booton has made her home with her son. Other relatives who survive her are: Mrs. John S. Rumor of Fairfield, a granddaughter; Fay D. Brandall of Des Moines, a grandson, Mrs. A.L. Young of Sigourney, a granddaughter, and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home, 306 East Jefferson street, Thursday afternoon, February 8, at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. A. L. Miller, pastor of they Seventh Day Adventist church of Ottumwa, the faith in which she was a member for many years. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
