Mrs. Matilda Bredemeier Seneca, passed away this morning, March 23, in the Seneca hospital, where she had been a patient over five weeks because of a heart ailment. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, in the Thornburg Funeral Home, Seneca, and at 2:30 p.m. at the Freidens Evangelical church, north of Seneca with burial in the Friedens cemetery. The Rev. A. F. Werner will conduct the services. Mrs. Bredemeier was born July 30, 1886 in Germany and was a daughter of August and Wilhelmina Lange. Her home has been in Nemaha county since she came from Germany about 65 years ago. She moved to Seneca in 1947. She is survived by two sons, Willis and Melvin both of Seneca; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Burchardt and Mrs. Clara Marsh, both of Hiawatha, and one brother, Herman Lange of Sabetha. (The Courier-Tribune) Last Sunday more than a hundred people, neighbors and friends, gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Bredemeier to honor a few of the returned soldiers. Everybody brought well filled baskets and good things to eat. There was lots of fried chicken and in fact, everything you could think among the ears. Everybody had a joyous time and all are glad to have the boys with us again to enjoy civilian life. The honored soldiers number seven and they are: Aaron Levy, James Kelly, George Droge, Hugh McAlpine, John Turner, Charles Marsh and Herman Jauken. ****************************
