Description	:	Matilda Madison was born to Charles and Sina Madison in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 16, 1874, and died Oct. 23 in her home in Superior, Neb., at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 7 day. Read More	Matilda Madison was born to Charles and Sina Madison in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 16, 1874, and died Oct. 23 in her home in Superior, Neb., at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 7 day. She had been in failing health for several years. She was married to Peter Hanson in Council Bluffs on June 28, 1890. They made their home in Shelby County, Iowa, until 1906 when they moved to a farm near Hardy. Later they lived near Abdal in this county, until they moved to York in 1920 where Mr. Hanson died in 1934. Mrs. Hanson became a member of the Scandinavian Baptist church in Council Bluffs at an early age. Since coming to Superior in 1947, she had been a member of the First Baptist church here. Mrs. Hanson will be remembered as one who loved little children. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her main interest. Shortly before her husband's death, he paid a sweet tribute to her when he said, "She was very patient and had proven herself as wife, mother and mother-in-law." She is survived by three daughters, Miss Grace Hanson of Superior, Mrs. J. W. (Anna) Wittmeyer of Renton, Wash., and Mrs. E. F. (Ida) Asplund of Seattle, Wash.: and three sons, Arthur of Superior, Eugene of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Ralph of Lincoln. One daughter died in infancy and a son, Charles, died at Camp Grant, Rockford, Ill., in 1918. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ida Christiansen of Cadott, Wisc. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Bryant Currier at the First Baptist church, Tuesday, Oct. 27. Internment was in Evergreen cemetery with the Megrue Service in charge.
