Read More	Adams County Free Press Thu, Oct 5, 1950, Corning, IA: Mat Wilson of Prescott passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lou Johnson, on September 28. He had been in failing health for some time. Mat, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Wilson, was born February 9, 1868 in Johnson County, Iowa. He was 82 years, 7 months, and 25 days old. He was a member of the Mason Lodge and would have been a member for fifty years if he had lived until next July 1. He had spent nearly 72 years in and around Prescott. Mat was known to everyone for his kindness and ready hand to help everyone. He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, and two sisters, George Wilson, Prescott, Mrs. Maud Carey of Winterset, and Mrs. Lou Johnson of Prescott. One sister-in-law, Mrs. George Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. His father and mother and three sisters preceded him in death. Etta, who died in infancy, Mrs. Edith Young of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Mrs. Ruth Florence of Huron, South Dakota. Mat is gone, but not forgotten. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, at 2:00 P.M. at the Christian Church with Rev. F.C. McCallon of Creston officiating. Burial was at the Evergreen cemetery, Prescott. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ruth Sears and Mrs. Ray Campbell. Pall bearers were Orlo Leigh, Frank McGregor, O.B. Hanson, Park Homan, G.E. James, and W.B. Daniel.
