Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 4th, 2013 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Lee Hendon officiating. Scott was born on March 15, 1939 in Atchison, KS., the son of Maurice S. and Jessie "‘Isabelle" (Low) Knoch. Scott at age 11 was the youngest boy in Kansas at that time to earn his Eagle Scout Award. He attended Atchison Elementary and grade schools and graduated from Atchison High School in 1957. In 1970, he became partners in the Atchison Pattern Works Company and owned and operated it until 2001. Scott was member of the First Christian Church, where he had served as a former Elder, Deacon and Board Chairman. Scott was an involved civic leader serving on the City Commission from 1993 to 1999 and was Mayor of Atchison from 1996 to 1998. He was a member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge. Scott was a long time volunteer with the International Forrest of Friendship. He loved the outdoors, especially being on the water. Scott loved to garden and loved building projects. Following his retirement, he moved to the La Feria VIP RV Park in La Feria, Texas where he continued to be heavily involved in the community. Scott was previously married to Judith A. Stone and Darlene Wagner and later divorced. He was married to Beverly "Pat" Knoch on Dec. 16, 1983 in Atchison. Pat preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2003. Survivors include his loving companion Frances Kane, La Feria, TX, four sons; Greg (Anita) Knoch, Topeka, KS., Mark ( Lilia) Knoch, Manilla ,Phillipines, Justin (Wendy) Walker, Elk Grove, CA., and Reed (Alice) Hammans, Ames, Iowa, two daughters; Amy (Lee) Hendon, Atchison, KS., and Robin (Sheryl) Hammans, Clarinda, Iowa., Grandchildren; Jessica, Daniel, Bo, Danielle, Heidi, Mandi, Joey, Cyrus, Carlo, Malvin, and Vinnie, and seventeen great grandchildren.
