Maurice was born October 4, 1917 in Birmingham, Iowa the son of John and Caroline Glanzman Roach. He graduated from Pleasant Plain High School and received his Electrical Engineer degree from the University of Iowa in 1950. Maurice was born October 4, 1917 in Birmingham, Iowa the son of John and Caroline Glanzman Roach. He graduated from Pleasant Plain High School and received his Electrical Engineer degree from the University of Iowa in 1950. He served in Navy during World War II in both the European Theater of Operations and the Philippines in the Pacific as a Chief Electrician''s Mate from 1942 to 1946. Maurice married Betty L. Mosinski on September 10, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield . They celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield and has been a resident of Fairfield for 62 years. He worked as an electrical engineer for Silas - Mason Company in Burlington from 1950 until his retirement in 1984. Deceased family members include his parents, 2 brothers Bernard Roach and Lawrence Roach, a sister Margaret Sophia Douglas and 2 sisters in infancy. Surviving are his wife Betty, 4 daughters: Marilyn ( Stephen ) Graham of Frankfort, IL, Carolyn Roach of Dallas, Texas, Maureen Roach of Fairfield, and Marianne ( Mark ) Nienhuis of Jamestown, NC, and 2 sons: John ( Susan ) Roach of San Antonio, TX and James ( Carol ) Roach of Houston, TX. , 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. A Prayer Service will be on Friday at 4:30 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home followed by a visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church or Mass stipends. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
