Loewen, was born to us May 19, 1965 at Glenn General Hospital, Willows, Calif., and passed from us July 22, 1967 about 9:30 a.m. near our home. Death was caused by accidental drowning. He was a loving child and brought much joy into our home, and we wanted him to stay with us on earth. We loved him tenderly and would so gladly have provided and cared for him. Loewen, was born to us May 19, 1965 at Glenn General Hospital, Willows, Calif., and passed from us July 22, 1967 about 9:30 a.m. near our home. Death was caused by accidental drowning. He was a loving child and brought much joy into our home, and we wanted him to stay with us on earth. We loved him tenderly and would so gladly have provided and cared for him. In our deep sorrow we find comfort in this, we see the Almighty God has better provided for him in Heaven, and we must say, with Job of old, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed the name of the Lord!." Maynard leaves his sorrowing parents, Minister Dick and Alice Loewen, six brothers and three sisters; Leonard and wife Ruth; Ruth and husband Robert Koehn; Edith and husband Harold Eck; Roland, Ronald, Salome Anne, Howard and Jesse, all of Glenn, Calif. and Paul of Roseburg, Ore.; grandparent (maternal) David and Anna Dyck; paternal Cornelius and Annie Loewen, also uncles, aunts and cousins. We sorrow not without hope for Jesus has taken our precious child to Abraham's bosom to sing with the angels. Maynard loved spiritual songs and even at his tender age they moved him deeply. He loved to sing about Jesus. Now he is with Him, to dwell in a land, a beautiful land, where nobody ever grows old. OUR DARLING Jesus has taken our darling, To His beautiful garden above; Where flowers forever are blooming, In the sunshine of heavenly love. We had him, our darling, but briefly, So loving and tender his stay, We know, he is safely with Jesus, With Him comes no sorrowful day. Funeral services were held in the Glenn Mennonite Church, July 25, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. Min. Jac. H. Loewen had introductory remarks and prayer and Min. Jessie Koehn from Livingston, Calif. brought the message from Prov. 27:6; John 12:24, 25; and Psa. 27:1-5. The body was laid to rest in the Willows Cemetery with Min. John Wiens from Winton, Calif. reading 1 Thess. 4:13-18 and leading in prayer. (The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation for the prayers that have been sent to heaven's Throne in their behalf and the sympathy extended to them).
