Description	:	Meda Lizzette Hahn was born on a farm south of Clay Center on April 12, 1900. She was the daughter of Frederick Henry and Martha Eliza Horsfall Hahn. When Meda was three, the famlly moved to a farm southwest of Clay Center where she resided until her marriage. As a youngster, she attended the 8-mile School southwest of Clay Center. Vernon and at a school south... Read More	Meda Lizzette Hahn was born on a farm south of Clay Center on April 12, 1900. She was the daughter of Frederick Henry and Martha Eliza Horsfall Hahn. When Meda was three, the famlly moved to a farm southwest of Clay Center where she resided until her marriage. As a youngster, she attended the 8-mile School southwest of Clay Center. In high school, Meda played on the basketball team where she was made captain her senior year. She graduated from Clay Center High School in 1917. After graduation, she taught at Mt. Vernon and at a school south of Miltonvale. While teaching there, she met a special young man and a courtship soon began. Myron Merrill Condray and Meda were married on May 5, 1920 at the home of the bride's parents. They moved to a farm northwest of Idana. They then moved to a farm on the river west of Morganville, then to a farm northwest of Idana. In 1931, they then moved to the farm which was 7 1/2 miles west of Morganville, where in addition to farming, they raised chickens, cows, horses and hogs. Born to this union were Dorothy Jean, who died as a child on December 31, 1925, Martha Belle and Robert Merrill. As a young girl, Meda joined the 4-Mile Presbyterian Church. After her marriage, she joined the Shiloh Methodist Church and later, the Morganville and Clay Center Methodist Churches. Meda enjoyed participating in Sunday School and women's missionary organizations. Meda a Myron lived on the farm for many years-where Meda enjoyed a large garden, caring for chickens and other livestock helping with the farming and raising their children. The grandchildren remember using a dipper to drink our of the bucket in the kitchen. Meda always had a special treat for them- Juicy Fruit gum. After a farm sale in 1966, they moved into Clay Center where they enjoyed the benefits of indoor plumbing, running water and socializing with their friends and family. Meda was preceded in death by her husband Myron, who died on March 25, 1984. In August of 1984, Meda moved to Parkview Apartments in Clay Center, and in November 1989, she moved to the Presbyterian Manor, where she resided until her death of natural causes on November 9, 1992. Surviving her are her daughter: Martha Belle (Earl) Fowles, Clay Center;son Robert (Judy) Condray, Clifton; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Meda is also survived by two sisters; Ruah Sterrett, Clay Center, and Margaret Kell, Colorado Springs, CO., one brother Ralph Hahn, Hill City, Ks and sister-in-law, Marie Hahn, Clay Center, Ks. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on November 12, 1992 at the United Methodist Church, Clay Center. Burial was in Idana Cemetery, Idana, Ks. Obituary: The Clay Center Dispatch; Tuesday, November 24,1992.
