Read More	Melinda Magdalene Eisenhuaer 1980 Bridgewater Bulletin The community of Northwest and surrounding area was saddened when learning of the death of Melinda Magdalene Eisenhauer, widow of Stephen Eisenhauer. She was called to Higher Service on September 24, 1980, at the Mahone Nursing Home where she resided during the past few weeks. Born in Maitland 91 years ago she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enos (Caroline Veinot) Oickle. Later they moved to Big Lots where the deceased attended school. After her marriage she resided on the farm in Northwest-Fauxburg. She was a woman of sterling character and was known as Aunt Lindie by many relatives and friends. Her diminishing eyesight curtailed her handwork but until a few years ago she had hooked and braided dozens of mats and knit hundreds of pounds of yarn. Of a retiring nature her quiet dignity was an inspiration to her family and friends. She cared for the chickens, made butter along with many other chores that come with living on a farm. With the many chores she cared for her husband and five children. She often spoke of walking to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, distances of four or five miles. During the past few years she spent much of the winters with her daughters in Bayport and Lunenburg but when summer called she went to the farm where she resided with her son and family until entering the hospital and eventually the nursing home. Surviving are daughters, Iona (Mrs. Borden Colp), Bayport; and Pauline (Mrs. Aubrey Upham), Lunenburg; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank Eisenhauer; a brother, Harris Oickle, Mahone Bay; and two sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Clarence Veinotte), Halifax; and Eveline (Mrs. Sylvanus Munroe), Lunenburg. There are also four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen; sons, Allister and Frank; and daughter, Lindie; brothers, Allister, Arthur, and Stanage; and sisters, Elizabeth and Mariam.
