Friends may call at the McDonald funeral home. ******************* Glasco Sun, Thursday, April 11, 1968, page 1: Glenn Ball Dies At Beloit Hospital April 5 Glenn Ball of Simpson, brother of Ray ball of Glasco, died Friday, April 5, at the Beloit Community Hospital at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 13 days. He had been in poor health for several years and was hospitalized March 10. Melvin Glenn Ball, son of W.S. and Mary Gobel Ball, was born near Concordia January 12, 1902. Most of his youth was spent in the Glasco community. He was united in marriage to Irene Komin of Simpson December 26, 1928. To this union two children were born: Melvin Dean and Audrey Irene. The family moved to a farm south of Simpson, the birthplace of his wife, and they lived there until his death. Glenn was a member of the Beloit Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Irene; one son, Melvin, Pampa, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Duane Budke, Beloit; four sisters, Mrs. Olive Moore of Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. Kittie Pierce of Summer, Wash., Mrs. Arthur (Sylvia) Lewis of Concordia and Mrs. August (Emma) Kaiser of Henderson, Nebr.; two brothers, Ray of Glasco and Floyd of Gresham, Ore.; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, at McDonald's Chapel in Beloit with Rev. Gordon Tasker of Glasco officiating. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Prochaska, Joe Jindra, Orville Kimsey, Claude Marler, Dewey Adams and Lyle Leinen. Mrs. Wilbur Pearson and Mrs. William Siegrist sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Leroy Wiegand, organist. Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Murray, Mrs. John Prochaska and Mrs. Claude Marler. (A list of out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral followed.)
