He departed this life at the Geneva Hospital in Geneva, Neb., at 3:36 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 1930, aged 29 years 3 months and 2 days. Death followed an operation for a goiter. Read More	ELWARD, MELVIN J. — Melvin Elward was born in Deadwood, S.D., August 4, 1901. He departed this life at the Geneva Hospital in Geneva, Neb., at 3:36 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 1930, aged 29 years 3 months and 2 days. Death followed an operation for a goiter. The Elward family moved to Fillmore County, Nebraska in 1902, and has since resided here. Melvin was united in marriage to Miss Phyllis Kiester, April 2, 1924. To this union two children were born, Eugene and Genevieve. The family made their home in Strang until they moved to Burress, where Mr. Elward took a position with the A. Koehler Co. They lived there until a year ago, when they moved back to Strang, Mr. Elward being employed here by the same company. Last spring he bought the Jeff Day property, where the family lived. Mr. Elward is survived by his wife and two children, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Elward, and one brother, Mervil all of whom live near Strang, besides a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday November 8, a short service being conducted at the home by Rev. W. G. Conner, and further services in the Geneva Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Harold C.
