He passed away on June 21, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 2 days. Melvin was one of five children, growing up he attended Beach Country School and graduated from Superior High School. He passed away on June 21, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 2 days. Melvin was one of five children, growing up he attended Beach Country School and graduated from Superior High School. He was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, Nebraska being baptized on May 15, 1938 by Pastor E. Walters and confirmed on August 12, 1951 by Galvin Ruster. Melvin was engaged in farming and also was a very skilled mechanic. Due to his health he entered the Good Samaritan Society on July 24, 2009 and resided there until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister. He is survived by his two brothers Darrel and wife Barbara of Omaha, Nebraska and Virgil and wife Cheryl of Byron, Nebraska and sister Catherine Ahrens of Superior, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
