September 1, 1912, he was received by holy baptism at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Hastings, and on July 26, 1925, he was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He received his education in the rural school near Hastings. Feb. 23, 1936, he was united in marriage with Helen Tanner at Immanuel Lutheran Church. To this union five children were born. Mr. Uhrmacher was a farmer living near Hastings for 32 years. He lived east of Cadams for 27 years and the past seven years he and his family lived on a farm northwest of Superior. In 1945 he joined Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior. He was a faithful member until his death. Preceding him in death were his parents, his first child, a daughter, and a brother, John. Survivors are his wife, Helen; a daughter, Mrs. Loren Ahrens, (Catherine) of Superior; three sons, Melvin of the home, Virgil of rural Superior and Darrel of Superior; seven grandchildren; seven brothers and two sisters, Harold of Superior, Mrs. Verna Janssen, Edwin Uhrmacher, Lawrence Uhrmacher, Robert Uhrmacher, Mrs. Floyd Rol (Louise) and Donald Uhrmacher of Hastings, Walter Uhrmacher of Tecumseh and Wilbert Uhrmacher of Fairbury. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8, from the Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Ray Ensign officiating. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
