Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Solt Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. Darryl Keeney will officiate. Burial will be in Hordville Cemetery. Mr. Fowler was born Sept. 5, 1926, to Joseph and Margaret (Wilison) Fowler in Phillips. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1943. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945. He married Iola Bengston on May 5, 1949. They lived in Hordville where he began Fowler Construction. He operated his carpenter business until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Hordville Volunteer Fire Department and received a 35-year plaque in 1992. He was a member of Polk American Legion for more than 50 years. He enjoyed animals and raised angora sheep, donkeys, geese and horses. He also enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Randy of Central City and Ron and Murray, both of Hordville; three daughters, Marla (Mrs. Trevor) Hansen of York, Rita Fowler of Aurora and Becky (Mrs. Keith) Green of Somers, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Merlyn of Hordville and one sister, Clover Jones of Central City.
