Mildred was born on a farm near Sartoria, Nebraska, to Herman and Otelliea Jahn Jones, November 30. 1911. Mildred was born on a farm near Sartoria, Nebraska, to Herman and Otelliea Jahn Jones, November 30. 1911. Baptized in the Lutheran faith December 22, 1922, at Sartoria, Mildred continued in her chosen religion her entire life. She was confirmed at the St. John Lutheran Church on June 19, 1927, and later attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton. January 31, 1934, Mildred was united in marriage to Alexander John Lindner at Kearney, Nebraska. During her early married years, Mildred cared for her husband's parents and helped "Lex" with the farm work. After the death of her husband in 1954, Mildred continued managing her farm; especially devoting her time to the care of her animals and her dog Puddie. During this time she also cared for her elderly brother-in-law Carl and her mother Otelliea Jones. For many years Mildred and her mother enjoyed working together in their garden, doing fancy work, baking the delicious bread and making strawberry jam which was enjoyed by her family and many friends. After the death of her Mother, Mildred continued to care for Carl until he moved to St. John's Home in Kearney. Mildred moved to Pleasanton in 1979 residing there until moving to Ravenna in 1982. There she was cared for by a loving and devoted staff who became her second family. Mildred's family and friends will remember the many hours she spent making original quilts for each newlywed as well as her unselfish love and devotion shown during times of joy or adversity. Her warm hug and attention made many small hurts better. Birthday celebrations were made complete with the addition of her homemade bread and kolaches. While a resident at the Good Samaritan Center, Mildred used her sewing skills to make quilts as well as doing mending for the staff and residents. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Lex, her parents, infant daughters, Beulah Faye and Delores Lee, a brother Howard and a sister Wauneta. She is survived by her sister Helen Pritchard of Pleasanton; brothers, Andrew Jones of Fremont, CA and Calvin "Hap" Jones of Thedford, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
