Description	:	Helen Olga Jones Pritchard was born December 17, 1909 in an apartment over the store in Sartoria, Nebraska to Herman Joseph and Otelliea Tracy Jahn Jones. She passed away August 17, 1995 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Helen was baptized June 12, 1910 and confirmed June 20, 1927 at the St. John Lutheran Church near her parents' home. Helen was the eldest in her family as well as the oldest of the Jones cousins. She had the responsibility of baby sitting her siblings and cousins. ... She passed away August 17, 1995 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Helen was baptized June 12, 1910 and confirmed June 20, 1927 at the St. John Lutheran Church near her parents' home. Helen was the eldest in her family as well as the oldest of the Jones cousins. She had the responsibility of baby sitting her siblings and cousins. On September 16, 1929, she married Robert Pritchard in Smith Center, Kansas and they lived on the Pritchard Farm in Pleasant Valley until moving to their new home in Pleasanton in December of 1972. Helen set a big table in her kitchen for every meal. She raised chickens and a large garden to provide for her family. Egg and cream money helped the family survive the Depression. No one went hungry and her treadle machine was used to make all the clothing for her family. She was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and a Bible school and Sunday School teacher. She spent many happy hours quilting with her friends and helped prepare for the annual church dinner. Survivors include her daughters, June and husband Norman Hand, Delda and husband Don Johnson, Corene and husband Errol Phillips, and Corliss and husband Phil Dixon of Pleasanton; sons, Robert and wife Iva; Brian and wife Hope also of Pleasanton; brother, Andrew and his wife Roviene Jones of Fremont, California and Calvin "Hap" and his wife Audrey Jones of Thedford, Nebraska; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Robert on May 18, 1974; daughter Carolyn on December 7, 1941; granddaughter Renee Hand; great-grandson Blake Teter; son-in-law, Donald Klein; sisters Wauneta Crable and Mildred Lindner; brother Howard Jones and her parents.
