The body will be taken to the church from the Weston Behner Funeral home at 1 p.m. The former Mildred Leila Jones, Mrs. Jones spent nearly her entire life in Fairfield. She was born Feb. 7, 1902 at Brighton, the daughter of Alson and Fannie Wiggins Jones. She was married to Guy Jones Dec. 26, 1923. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Methodist church, the Jefferson county chapter of the American Red Cross and the Jefferson county chapter of the American Cancer Society. She served as Red Cross knitting chairman for many years and formerly handled the local mailing of New Horizons, Iowa Cancer Society publication. She was a donor to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. John S. Leech, Gunnison, Colo.; and one son, Jack Jones, Merced, Calif. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one brother, Carleton Jones, Ottumwa. Her parents, one son and one brother preceded her in death. Memorials for Mrs. Jones to the American Cancer Society may be sent to Mrs. E. E. Axthelm, Fairfield (sic. obviously this addressee is no longer living a/o 2016).
