Pleasant on Dec. 21, 1937 for the funeral service of Mrs. Edward Housel which was conducted by the Reverends E.J. Shook and J.H. Nightingale, who spoke comforting words from Psalm 23 and John 14. The hymns, Jesus, Lover of My Soul. Rock of Ages and In the Garden were sung by Mrs. Talbott, Mrs. Mills, M.S. Cromer and Will Campbell. Miss Blanche Thorson was accompanist. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and were very expressive of the life this good woman lived.... Pall bearers were Guy and Jesse Anderson, John and Harry Freeman, Horton Gilbert and Howard Welch. Burial took place at Forest Home cemetery. Mima Lucinda Montgomery, daughter of Eliphalet Cozad and Martha Ann Carter Montgomery, was born on April 10, 1884. Just at dawn Sunday, Dec. 19, 1937, she slipped peacefully away, after an illness of about a year, to the home her Savior had prepared for her, at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 9 days. She attended the public schools near her home and was graduated from the Mt. Pleasant academy in the year 1906. She then taught in the county for seven years. On Oct. 2, 1912, she and Edward C. Housel were united in marriage and have lived in the West Highland neighborhood all their married life. They were parents of three children, Warren Edward and Vera Arlene at home; one son died in infancy. Her parents, two infant brothers and one sister, Lulu Bell Bonnifield, preceded her in death. There remains of her immediate family, three brothers and one sister, Archer Emmett Montgomery of McMinnville, Oregon; Ralph Eveston of Mt. Pleasant; William Walker of Salem and Mrs. Mark Lawrence near Mt. Pleasant; also eight nieces and nephews. Mrs. Housel accepted the Lord as personal Savior in 1900 during a revival at West Highland Methodist church under the ministry of Rev. E.J. Shook. She was baptized and joined at that place. Since that church has discontinued she with her entire family , placed their membership with the Mt. Pleasant First Methodist church. The News, Mt.
