VOL WRIGHT DIES IN KANSAS Mrs. Vol Wright, wife of a former well known Box Butte county rancher, died Monday at the family home in Downs, KS following an extended illness from small pox which later developed into pneumonia. Mrs. Ralph Worley, a daughter of the deceased, left last week for her bedside and was there when death came. "SPLENDED WOMAN HAS PASSED BEYOND" Although the Times has previously mentioned the death of Mrs. Vol Wright, which occurred at Downs, KS on the 14th last, some items appearing in the paper of that city in connection with a report of Mrs. Wright's demise will prove of interest to deceased's many friends and acquantances in this vicinity. The Down's News says: "Her death is peculiarily a bad one, and is mourned by all who were so fortunate as to be acquainted with the noble woman who has passed away. The family has been sorely afflicted for the past three or four months, being compelled to go through a siege of both smallpox and measles, during which time practically the entire family suffered with the two maladies and the worry and constant strain of the long period of sickness sapped the strength of Mrs. Wright to the extent that when she was taken down with the measles her system was in no condition to battle with the disease, with the result that pneumonia developed, with other complications, which made the fight a hard one from the start, and finally brought about her death. She was a woman of great nobility of character, kind and loving in her home life with husband and children and a neighbor whom to know was a privilege to those about her. Her place in the home, the church and the community will be hard to fill, and her memory will long be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her best."
