The following is her obituary at the time of her passing: PIERCETON – Nerva Boyer, 91, Rt. 1, died Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. at her home. Death was attributed to heart failure. Death was attributed to heart failure. She had been ill for the past five years. Mrs. Boyer, a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, was born July 31, 1878, in Lake Township to Monroe and Mary Elizabeth (Claxton) Kreiter. On Dec. 25, 1897, she married John Boyer, who preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. Boyer was a member of the Pierceton United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Alene) Hartman, of Pierceton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild, nieces and nephews. A son and a twin sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wyman Funeral home, with Rev. Henry Uhrick officiating. Burial will be in Eel River cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, all day Thursday and until the time of the funeral. Census reports would indicate birth in 1878 as well. Her twin sister Erva seems to have the same issue. Headstone 1877 and obit states 1878.
