Anderson was the daughter of Mr. Richard Wagstaff, an old resident of Lawrence, and would have been 23 years of age had she lived until July 1. Mr. Harry Wagstaff, a brother of the deceased lady, arrived today from Texas, and the father, Mr. Richard Wagstaff, who is a commercial traveler was reached by wire at Wellington, Kansas,and will arrive tomorrow morning. No definite time has been set for the funeral. but arrangements have been made to inter the body at Oak Hill Cemetery. Many friends of the relatives extend their earnest sympathies in their great bereavement. --Lawrence Daily Journal (Lawrence, Kansas) June 22, 1891, Monday (another obituary says that she leaves "behind a young babe of a few days". That baby would be Bessie M. Anderson, born June 1891. Her husband Arthur married Eva Bell Smith in 1893 and had children Eva B., and Arthur S.) ------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Arthur A.J. Anderson and Miss Minnie Wagstaff, both of this city, were united in marriage last evening at the home of the bride's parents on Ohio street. Rev. Dr. Marvin officiating. The journal will give a more extended notice of the happy event in it's "Sunday Social Column. --Lawrence Daily Journal November 30, 1888 ----------------------------------------------------------- Bessie Anderson married Frank Preyer at noon on Apr. 30, 1913 in La Junta, Colorado. He lived in Boone, Colorado but is also from Lawrence, Kansas and is the son of Prof. and Mrs. Call (Carl) Preyor. Bessie and Frank moved around quite a bit. I've tracked them in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, through newspaper articles. I haven't managed to figure out where they died or are buried though. He was born in 1891 Kansas, the son of Carl A. Pryer, well known composer, musician and professor at the University of Kansas. Bessie and Frank Preyer's know children are: Frank Preyer Jr.: born 1914, buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, CO. His wife Elizabeth died Oct. 30, 1948 in Lamar, CO. trying to rescue her 3 children from a fire. Their 3 year old daughter Jane died in the fire with her mother.
