MINNIE LUCILLE (MEIER) KORBER Minnie Lucille (Meier) Korber, 80, of DuBois, Nebraska, was born on September 22, 1930, on a farm near DuBois, Nebraska to Carl and Opal (Elwood) Meier. Minnie grew up on the family farm and attended DuBois Public School. She later graduated from DuBois High School with the class of 1948. On July 17, 1949, Minnie was united in marriage to Jesse Korber. To this union, five children: Dennis Wayne, Marjorie Lynn, Kathy Ann, Pamela Anne and Nancy Kay, were born. The couple raised their family in DuBois, Nebraska. Minnie Lu worked as an office clerk for the O.A. Cooper Company for 13 years and the Humboldt Hospital for a year and a half. In 1981, Minnie and Jesse moved to Phoenix, Arizona where they managed an apartment complex for five years. The couple later moved back to Nebraska where Minnie held several other jobs until retirement. During retirement Minnie Lu enjoyed being around her family and pets Baby and Tigger. Her grandchildren were her love. Minnie enjoyed good times and laughter in the company of her many friends and family. Minnie Lu was a member of the Pawnee City VFW Auxiliary Post#5289, the DuBois Legion Auxiliary, and the United Methodist Church in DuBois. Minnie died at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, November 20, 2010 having reached the age of eighty years, one month, and twenty-nine days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jesse Korber. She is survived by her children, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Novenber 24, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in DuBois, Nebraska with Pastor Alan Gager officiating. Music was provided by soloist Kari Preclik and organist Carolyn Yoble. Interment was in the DuBois Cemetery. (Pawnee Republican, Nov. 25, 2010 pg.5)
