Beine, aged 47 years 7 months and 25 days, died at her home one mile east of Plainfield, on Monday, August 17, 1942, at 6:50 p. m.. from the ravages of a cancer, having been ill for nearly two years. Always of a cheerful disposition, she never gave up home that she would "be better soon." Her interests centered in her home and church, with which she united at an early age. Always of a cheerful disposition, she never gave up home that she would "be better soon." Her interests centered in her home and church, with which she united at an early age. She was never happier than when doing something for others less fortunate than herself. She loved the flowers, and her many friends kept her room beautiful with the many lovely bouquets sent to her during her illness. Being of a sociable nature, she numbered her friends by her acquaintances and always had a smile for her friends who dropped in to visit her often while she was ill. Minnie Mae French was born Dec. 23, 1894, to Geo. W. and Mahala J. French on a farm near Plainfield, in Bremer county, Iowa. She attended rural school near Plainfield, and later the Nashua public school. On leaving school, she worked as a typesetter in the office of the Nashua Reporter. In recent years, prior to her last illness, she had been Horton correspondent for the Reporter. She was married April 29, 1914 to Geo. E. Beine of Plainfield, at the Methodist church in Plainfield, Rev. Hillman officiating. To this union were born two children, Evalyn Myrtle, now Mrs. Paul Karns of Waterloo and another daughter, who died at birth. She leaves to mourn: her husband, Geo. E. Beine of Plainfield; her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Karns and granddaughter, Barbara Joan Karns, of Waterloo: her mother, Mrs. Mahala French, sisters, Hazel French and Mrs. Hillis Creger, all of Plainfield: another sister, Mrs. Orin Wait and a brother, Charles D. French, of Nashua. One sister, Myrtle and her father, Geo. W. French, preceded her in death several years ago. Besides other close relatives, she leaves a host of friends to mourn her passing. A prayer, penned by her own hands in her diary, expressing her faith in God, follows: Father, hear us as we pray, Guard and keep us every day; Help us with Thy loving care, Every day and everywhere. Amen Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Methodist church in Plainfield, with Rev. Edgar Walker officiating. Duets were sung by Mesdames Howard Stevens and Howard Mason, accompanied at the piano by Miss Hazel Boyd. Burial was made in the Oak Hill cemetery at Nashua. The pallbearers were Ben Cruse, Earl Plant, Glenn Kelly, Martin Hansen, W. L. Lantz and Roy Westervelt. Flower ladies were Mrs. Ben Cruse, Mrs. Jenne Cagley and Mrs. Harold Briggs. Card of Thanks We wish to thank the relatives, neighbors and many other friends for their kindnesses and expressions of sympathy during the illness and at the time of the death of our beloved wife and mother.
