Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Yankton, South Dakota with Reverends Ron Johnson and Melva Tranmer officiating. Burial will be in the Frankfort Cemetery in rural Crofton, Nebraska. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Frankfort Cemetery in rural Crofton, Nebraska. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton. Pallbearers are Kenny Jacob, Gene Jacob, Larry Jacob, Steve Stalling, Kyle Stalling and Duane Hamm. Miriam Pauline Kruse, daughter of Paul and Lizzie (Leuenberger) Jacob, was born on December 11, 1913 at Crofton, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Crofton and attended the rural school there. Miriam married Milton A. Kruse on January 1, 1942 at her parents' home. They farmed in the rural Crofton area before retiring and moving to Bloomfield. In the spring of 1990, they moved to Yankton, South Dakota and became members of the First United Methodist Church. Miriam was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Miriam moved back to the Sunset View on January 10, 2004, before entering Bloomfield Good Samaritan Home on February 17, 2007. Miriam enjoyed being a housewife and doing all types of crafts. Survivors include one brother, Harland (Ruth Ann) Jacob of Grand Junction, CO and many nieces and nephews. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton on July 14, 1992 at the age of 84; six brothers, Melvin, Lester, Elmer, Harvey, Edwin and Norman Jacob; two sisters, Agnes Jacob and Lona Phillips.
