For months she has been gradually sinking away until death put an end to her suffering at last. Monona B. Holt was born near Dayton, Iowa, Feb. 12, 1868, which place was her home until shortly before her marriage. She was married Feb. 10, 1897, at Stratford, to F.C. Bedford. Holt was born near Dayton, Iowa, Feb. 12, 1868, which place was her home until shortly before her marriage. She was married Feb. 10, 1897, at Stratford, to F.C. Bedford. To them were born two children one of which died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Bedford made Stratford and vicinity their home until three years ago when they moved to Hotchkiss, Colorado and at which place they resided until the time of Mrs. Bedford's death, with the exception of a few months the past year, which were spent at Stratford. They returned to Colorado last March, where Mrs. Bedford died Sept. 10, 1903. She was converted at Boone, Iowa, during a short residence there and lived a consistent Christian life until the time of her death. She recognized that death was near and expressed her willingness to depart. During the last hours she found consolation in the words of the 23 Psalm. Three brothers, three sisters, her mother, husband and baby daughter, Hazel, ten months old, are left to mourn her taking away. Her father, three brothers, one sister, and one child preceded her to the other shore. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Stratford, Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Hoelscher, and the body laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery.
