Description	:	Monte R. Bloyd, 60, of Gibbon, formerly of Hastings and Fullerton, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Monte was born Dec. 17, 1951, at Fullerton to John Marvin and Christine (Milby) Bloyd. Survivors are: wife, Beverly Boyd; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Greta Bloyd of Lincoln; daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Edward Krieser of Hallam and Rebecca and Phillip Kamarad of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, James and Sue Bloyd of Omaha. Monte grew up and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1970. He graduated from Central Community College in 1972. On April 7, 1973, he married Beverly Fimple. They lived in Hastings and he started his own business the Cornhusker Dental Laboratory in 1984 and was still operating it at the time of his death. They had moved to Gibbon in 2004. Monte was a member of Masonic Lodge 50 of Hastings and served as Past Master, 32 degree Scottish rite Mason, Tehama Shrine and member Cement Lodge 211 of Wood River, He had been involved with Boy Scouts and served on the Board. He was a life member of the NRA and Duck's Unlimited. Monte was and outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed building and woodworking, reading and studying military history and the guns and rifles used. Monte was preceded in death by his parents. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery, Fullerton, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on December 18, 2012
