Description	:	Although he was the third generation of Moses Hoskins, I have not found any records that specifically name him as Moses Hoskins III as was suggested to me. Died 1st mo. 2nd 1894 aged 79 years and 15 days. Was married to Mary Edwards 3mo. 25th, 1838, who still services him. To this union there were eleven children born, seven of whom are still living, and were present during his last sickness and death. He had been suffering with brights disease for several years but was not confined to the house but about three weeks. Was very patient during his sickness, full resigned to the Lord's will, often saying he did not think he would get up again, but said "I know I am ready to go, that there is nothing in my way." Was an affectionate husband, a loving father, and a kind and good neighbor, of a cheerful and lively disposition. A few days before his death he said, "I want to give some instructions about my funeral" which he did, and then spoke of his family and said, "My children never gave me an unpleasant word in their lives," and to the brothers and sisters he said, "did you ever think of it, that we have lived and raised our children all grown, and there never has been an unpleasant word between us in our lives?" Moved to Iowa 3 mo. 1839 and settled near Pleasant Plain, where he lived until his death. Was a member and trustee of Pleasant Plain Monthly Meeting of Friends continuously ever since its organization in 1840. Had been very useful in the Church often filling the most important offices to good satisfaction.
