Murray was predeceased by his first wife, Vella, his son, Franklin Robert, and grandson, Tim Murray Holt. Murray was born in Raymond on July 8, 1913 to Franklin Truman Holt and Sarah Bullock Holt. He had 5 brothers- Grant, Truman, Morris, Isaac and Bill; 5 sisters-Emma, Leah, Ruth,Florence and Gladys. Murray grew up in Raymond and served his family, his community and his church all of his life. He married Vella Thomson on Nov. 11, 1936. They farmed north of Raymond and raised their seven children. He served on many community boards including: 4-H, Sugar Beet Growers, Lion's Club, Feeders Ass'n, Health Unit, School Trustee and others. He served the County of Warner for 16 years as a councilor and reeve. He enjoyed politics and loved to be involved and informed. Murray married Luella Gray on Dec, 20, 1980 and brought a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to his family. Dad has been truly blessed to have had 2 choice ladies to share his life. Murray served his church diligently as a teacher, councilor, Bishop, missionary, temple worker, and also in the Cardston Temple Presidency. He was an example to all and will be truly missed. The Funeral Service will be held in Raymond at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Street Chapel on Saturday, June 5th, 2004 at 2:00 p,m, with Bishop Lorin H. Low officiating. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond, AB.
