She died January 12, 1980 at the Cherry County Hospital at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 13 days. When she was 6 years of age, her family decided to move to Nebraska. They traded their farm, General Storn, livestock, and household goods in Missouri for the Winslow ranch and their similar possessions, located northwest of Cody, Nebraska. The only belongings they kept were carried with them on the train to nebraska. Myrtle spetn her childhood and received her early education at rural school district Ne. 81 near Cody. She attended high school at Chadron, nebraska where she obtrained a teachers certificate, and later taught rural school near Valentien for two years. On June 10, 1936 she was united in marriage to Clifford Belville at Martin, South Dakota. To this union six children were born. They made their home near the home ranch for ten years, then moved into Valentine where she resided the rest of her life, except for 3 years in Lincoln, and 8 years in Denver. She was baptised into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the summer of 19936 by ELDER Howe. She was sustained by her faith for the remainder of her life. In 1956 at the age of 48, she took Practical Nurses Training, taught by Irene Hutchison, at the Sandhills General Hospital. Following her training she became a Licensed Practical Hurse. Her ability to help others as a nurse was a great pleasure in her life, and many who she helped deeply appreciated her efforts. She always enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours watching and identifying birds. Another hobby and talent she possessed was composing poetry. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; two sons, Cliffie and Dewey; her parents; a brother, Tom Hale; and a sister, Stella Jackson; two infant brothers and one infant sister. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Lowell of Valentine, Russell of Chandler, Arizona, Mrs. Dorothy Lord of Valentine, and Mrs. Sandy Mix of Lincoln; four brothers and five sisters, Charley of Wichita Falls, Texas, Jenny Eley of Orchard, Nebraska, Taylor of Weiser, Idaho, Bertha Lanington of Chadron, Nebraska, Nora McClaren of Orchard, Nebraska, George of St. Johns, Washington, Everrett of Atkinson, Nebraska, Marie McClaren of Cody, Nebraska, and Mildred Teaford of Burwell, Nebraska; twenty-three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Valentine on January 15, 1980. Pastor Delmar Austing officiated. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Valentine.
