Description	:	Nancy Ann Wright Gilstrap was born on May 4, 1779 in Rowan County, North Carolina to Benjaman Wright, Sr. and Barbara Morgan. It has also been stated that she was born on May 24, but her headstone states May 6. She was married to Richard Gilstrap on May 24, 1797 in Rowan County, North Carolina. She was a sister to my 3rd Great Grandmother Martha Wright who was the wife of William Moss. She was a sister to my 3rd Great Grandmother Martha Wright who was the wife of William Moss. She was the mother of at least thirteen children: including Sally, Elizabeth M., Barbara, Aaron, Jeremiah M. Gilstrap who was married to Rachel Copple, my Great Great Grandmother Sarah "Sallie" Copple's sister, Alexander, John David, Mary, Selah, Rachel, Welthy, Sarina, and Levina. The following Obit tells a little about her life. From "The Christian Record", Vol. IV, No. 7, Indianapolis, Indiana: "Brother Goodwin: It becomes my duty to record the death of one of our most ancient sisters, Sister Nancy, widow of Richard Gilstrap. She was the daughter of Benjamin Wright, born in Rowan County, NC on the 24th day of May, 1779, was married in the same county on the 24th of May, 1797, was immersed by Elder William Summers in Wayne County, KY in the year 1806, and became a member of the Separate or Free Will Baptist. She was one of the first to embrace the Reformation and continued a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Millcreek, Washington County, IN until the day of her death. She died on the 10th day of April, 1860, being 80 years, 11 months and 6 days old. Jacob Wright" She relocated with her husband Richard to Kentucky and then to Washington County, Indiana, where she spent the rest of her life. Richard died on December 18, 1835 and she joined him April 10, 1860 and was buried beside him in Gilstrap Cemetery, Howard TWP, Washington County, Indiana.
