McCready Was 80 Years Of Age Mrs. Nancy Bell McCready, widely known and highly esteemed resident of the Mariner's section, died at her home on Chesapeake Avenue extended late Tuesday evening, at the age of 80 years. Mrs. McCready, who was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Whealton and widow of the late Francis Asbury McCready, had been ill for several weeks. She had been a devoted wife and mother, a motherly woman who took great pride in her home and family, a fine neighbor, one who was always eager to be of help in times of trouble and distress, and her many deeds of kindness made for her many warm friends and secured for her affection and esteem beyond the ordinary. She was also a great church woman, and for years had been interested in the work of Mariners Methodist church, where her loyalty and devotion were valuable and appreciated. She lay at rest in her home until Thursday afternoon at 2.00 o'clock, when funeral services were conducted there by Rev. Robert E. Green, pastor of Asbury Methodist church. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Edgar W. McCready, Lloyd A. McCready, and Ellwood T. McCready, and two daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Nola) Saltz, and Mrs. Doyle (Nellie) Tyler, all of this city. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, August 5, 1949, p. 1
