Nancy Hudelestun was born December 14, 1815, in Urbana, Ohio, thus lacking just a few months of completing 94 years here below. She was married to John H. Dickinson November 29, 1838, and together they came to Iowa fifty-six years ago. They settled in Cedar county from which they never moved. Seventeen years ago they came into Tipton to make their home. Mr. Dickinson died July 4, 1900. To them were born six children, four of whom survive both their parents. Mrs. Dickinson leaves seventeen grand children, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The funeral services were held at the home of her son, J. D. Dickinson, Friday morning, March 5, 1909, W. Rollin McCauslin, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. The remains were taken by train to Clarence, Iowa, where interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery at that place. Mrs. Dickinson had for some years been a member of the Presbyterian church. Her last years were especially rich in patience and good cheer and she was great comfort to those about her. But having grown feeble and weary in life but not of life, she welcomed the call to "come home" that she might refresh herself and receive her reward. Clarence Sun: March 9, 1909 Page 4
