Mrs. Alexander had lived many years in this community. Survivors include 2 sons and 5 daughters and 1 stepson. They are Carroll [Carl] of Allen, Kans., and Gail of Norwalk and Eugene Alexander of Audubon, Mrs. Dorothy Oberender of Prole, Mrs. Berniece Huston and Mrs. Pauline Lancaster, both of Norwalk, Mrs. Irene Glascock of Indianola, and Mrs. Ruth Hollingsworth of Des Moines. Two sisters, Mrs. Lannie Crow of Martensdale, Mrs. Sula Kepley and one brother, Dan Lockridge, of Spring Hill. # # # August 20, 1953 Record Herald & Indianola Tribune Nannie Alice Lockridge, daughter of Mary and Joseph Lockridge, was born May 26, 1881 and died at her home near Prole, July 31, 1953, having reached the age of 72 years, 2 months and 5 days. She was born and raised in Jefferson Township and received her education in the country schools. On May 5, 1907 she was united in marriage to Leftrich Alexander who preceded her in death in September of 1950 after 43 years of married life. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Freda and Louise. As a girl she united with the Christian Church in Spring Hill, later transferring her membership to the Methodist Church at Linn Grove. She is survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Lana Crow of Martensdale, Mrs. Sulu Kepley of Des Moines, and Dan Lockridge of Spring Hill. Also surviving are five daughters and two sons: Dorothy Oberender of Prole, Bernice Huston of Waukee, Pauline Lancaster of Norwalk, Irene Glascock of Indianola, Ruth Hollingsworth of Des Moines, Carroll Alexander of Allen, Kansas, and Gail Alexander of Norwalk. Also a stepson, the Rev. Eugene Alexander of Audubon, Iowa. There are 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren that will remember this loving grandmother. Funeral services were conducted at the Linn Grove Methodist Church, Monday morning August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Milo Morris delivering the funeral message.
