Description	:	HUBBARD, Neb. -- N. LaVern Duncan, 80, of Hubbard died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Neb. following a lengthy illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson, Neb., with the Rev. Scott Evans officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. LaVern was born June 15, 1925, in Prescott, Kan., the daughter of Vernon and Myrtle (Steele) Wallace. She graduated from Prescott High School and attended Pittsburg State College. She taught elementary school for two years prior to her marriage. She married Marvin Duncan on April 28, 1946. The couple farmed for 20 years, moving into Hubbard in 1972. She was employed as a cook at the Hubbard School. She is survived by her husband, Marvin; a daughter and her husband, Meredith and Jim O'Connell of Lincoln, Neb.; a son and his wife, Ken and Colleen Duncan of Wisner, Neb.; two brothers, Harold of Fort Scott, Kan., and Raymond of Prescott, Kan.; two sisters, Edna Probasco of Pleaston, Kan., and Aldene Rogers of Lake Okeechobee, Fla.; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
