Description	:	Nels William Jorgensen, 80, of Minden, died Tuesday, Feb 20, 1996 at his home in Minden. Nels was born Dec 24, 1915, in Valley County, near Ord. He moved with his parents, William Sr and Anna (Tomsen) Jorgensen to Kearney County in 1921. He attended country school district 14, southeast of Minden. Nels was born Dec 24, 1915, in Valley County, near Ord. He moved with his parents, William Sr and Anna (Tomsen) Jorgensen to Kearney County in 1921. He attended country school district 14, southeast of Minden. At the Fredericksburg Lutheran church southeast of Minden he was baptized by the Rev H P Jensen, confirmed by the Rev John C Romer and was a lifelong member. On March 11, 1942, he married Rosamond Ramona Werth at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church with the Rev Alfred Andersen officiating. Their union was blessed with one daughter and one son. During the years he loved horses, he drove his ponies and wagon in many parades. With his horses, he used his team to dig out the Minden football field. He helped cut down trees for the R E A lines, worked at the Minden Livestock Salebarn, served on the Farmer's Union Station board and the Farmer's Co-op Elevator board. He also served on the Fredericksburg Cemetery Board, on the church council and was church sexton with the ringing of the bell. He farmed until 1981, then moved into Minden. Survivors include his wife, Rosamond; daughter, Nelda and her husband, Dennis Fleharty; grandchildren, Kevin and Kendra Fleharty of Hastings; daughter-in-law, Florence Hoagland and her husband, Larry and children, Lance and Heather of Doniphan; sister, Helen Nelson and her husband, Donald of Oxford; brothers, Alden and his wife, Marie, of Holstein, William Jr and his wife, Merribelle of Minden; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Caroline and a son, Bruce in 1976. Funeral services were Feb 24, at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church in rural Minden with the Rev Sandra Leifeste officiating. Singers were Wesley Anderson and Elliott Nielsen. Glen Haselbarth and Donna Davidson provided the organ and piano music. Honorary casketbearers were Bob Werth, Gene Trausch, Bud Fritson, Chuck Tomson, Dr Marvin Meyer, Dr Tom Christensen, Sidney Paulsen, Marvin Deisley, Merle Haselbarth, Robert Borgaard, Clarence Nelson, Loren Worick, Dale Space, Bill Nielsen, Faye Spors and James Larsen. Terry Jorgensen, William Jorgensen III, Michael Jorgensen, Doug Jorgensen, Kent Felzien, Steven Werth, Greg Werth, Don Phillips, Tim Bauer, Tom Donley and Rich Pesek served as casketbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church and the Bethany Home.
