Description	:	OBIT: Nicholas P. Haberman, native Kittitas Valley man, died Sunday morning at the Ellensburg General Hospital, from a stroke suffered while asleep at home. He was 70 years old. Born on what is now the Bar 14 Ranch, Haberman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Haberman. He married Colleen Cox in Sunnyside, November 26, 1929 and she survives him at the family home at 909 Spokane St., which they purchased only three months ago upon his retirement. Born on what is now the Bar 14 Ranch, Haberman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Haberman. He married Colleen Cox in Sunnyside, November 26, 1929 and she survives him at the family home at 909 Spokane St., which they purchased only three months ago upon his retirement. Haberman was a veteran of World War I where he served in France. For nearly 20 years he operated motels, one year in Yakima, eight years at the Lighthouse Motel here and the past 11 years the Bunglaow Motel which he sold in April. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and World War I Barracks. Besides his wife, Haberman is survived by two sons, Donald Haberman of Seattle; Walter Haberman of Seattle; Walter Haberman, U. S. Air Force at Wichita, Kans.; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Gray of Seattle and Mrs. James Hutchinson of Ellensburg; six grandchildren; four brothers, Frank of Ocean Lake, Ore., John, George, and Martin Haberman, all of Ellensburg; two sisters, Mrs. Othelia Hobbick of Seattle and Mrs. Rose Rollinger of Ellensburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudolf, Will, and Albert, all of Ellensburg. Rosary will be said at the Evenson Chapel at 7:30 tonight and requiem mass at St. Andrew's Church Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Committal will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Ellensburg Daily Record, July 17, 1961 Nicholas P. Haberman was born in Ellensburg, Washington on July 1, 1891 to early Kittitas Valley pioneers August and Annie Haberman. For many years, Nick and his wife Coleen owned and operated the Lighthouse Auto Service Station and Cabins on W. Eighth Avenue. Nicholas was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
