Ehnes of Great Falls, a resident of the Highwood section for many years, passed away in a hospital in Great Falls Sunday from injuries received in a car accident near Browning on Sept. 28th. Mrs. Ehnes being slightly injured in the accident. They were enroute to Duck lake on a fishing trip when their car pulling a boat and trailer turned over. Mr. and Mrs. Ehnes operated a ranch in the Highwood section for a good many years before his retirement and previously he had worked for rancher in that area. He retired from farming in 1953 and moved to Great Falls where they have since resided. Nick V. Ehnes was born March 7, 1901, at Roscoe, S. D. , where he spent his early life. He came to Montana and worked for some time for others before starting his farming operations, which he carried on in quite an extensive scale. He was a hard worker and good neighbor and friend. He is survived by his wife; five sons, John of Simms, Stephen of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Victor, Donald and Ray, all of Great Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara J. Hankins, Fort Benton; 11 brothers and sisters, one of whom, Matthew Ehnes, resides in Great Falls, and other relatives and a host of friends, who will mourn his untimely death. Funeral services are being held this Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Croxford mortuary with the Rev. Franklin D. Kohl officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Great Falls. The relatives have the sympathy all in their bereavement.
