Read More	DEATH COMES TO YOUNG WIFE AND MOTHER Last Rites For Mrs.Clifford Groon Are Held Friday Afternoon In these columns brief mention was made last week of the sudden death" of Mrs. Clifford Groon at her home northwest of here in Union county, S.D., from a heart attack Tuesday morning, December 21, 1943, at the age of 31 years, 5 months and 15 days. She was born in Sioux Valley Township, Union county, S. D., July 6, 1912. She attended the Elk Point High school and graduated in the Class of '31. The following year, on May 7, 1932, she was united in marriage with Clifford Groon, of Sioux Valley Township, and four children came to bless their union. Mrs. Groon expressed a Christian faith by joining the Union Creek Lutheran church through baptism in 1938, wherein she has since retained her membership. She is survived by her husband, Clifford, and four children, Roger, 10; Edwin, 6; Janice, 3, and Sandra, one month of age; also, by her mother, Mrs. Rose Thayer, of Richland, S. D.; five sisters, Florence, of Williams, Minn.; Grace, of Akron, Iowa; Dora, of Portland, Ore.; Claris, of Mobridge, S. D., and Mary,-of Sioux City, Iowa: six brothers, Frank Thayer, of Westfield, Iowa; Austin and Milan, of Long Beach, Calif.; Errol, of Brookings, S. D.; Len., of Elk Point, and Theron, of Sioux City, Iowa, as well as by a number of nephews and nieces. A kind and devoted wife and mother, a valued neighbor and friend, she will be greatly missed in the community where she had spent her entire life. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Union Creek Lutheran church, conducted by Pastor Leslie Olson. Cousins of the deceased who acted as pall bears were Emery, Elvin and Arnold Powell, Wilhelm Peterson, Lowell Nelson and Eldon Seely. Interment was in Union Creek cemetery.
