Description	:	Ola Mae (Masingill) McCoole Peterson, 101, Atchison, KS passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Atchison Senior Village. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, October 7, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Thursday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorials in honor of Ola are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund or the City Union Mission of Kansas City, MO and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Ola was born April 20, 1910 in Morrilton, AR the daughter of Grover C. and Cornellia (Simons) Masingill. She attended grade school in Arkansas and later moved to Kansas. Ola worked at the Blair Pancake Mill in the lab for 40 years testing flour. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, gardening, making quilts, textile painting and had made a lot of macramé. Ola loved being around children and was a favorite Aunt among all her nieces and nephews. Ola married Joseph E. McCoole in 1929 in Arkansas and they later divorced. She then married William Peterson in 1980 and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Curtis, Woodrow and O.B. Masingill; sisters, Etta Peck and Cecil McCoole; a grandson and a great-grandson. Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Hamlin, Atchison, KS; Joyce Henderson, Bonner Springs, KS; brother, Cleo Masingill, Old Hickory, AR; sisters, Imogene DeFranzo, Naugatuck, CT; Mary Sue Kelley, Atchison, KS; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
