Hargens was born May 25, 1915 to John and Theresa (Dreier) Hargens. She attended county school at South Howell School in Hand County. She married Roy Pollock on August 30, 1934 at Rockham, S.D. They resided on a farm southeast of Orient until they moved to Miller in August of 1981. In May 1996 she moved to Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking sewing, gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church Women and Park Township Club. She is survived by one son, Gordon (Marilyn) of Orient; two daughters, Arlys (Larry) Abernathy of Chamberlain, Vickie (Dairus) DeNeui of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one brother, Max Hargens of Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, six brothers, four sisters and one grandson.
