Worline Passes On Suddenly The news of Mrs. W. E. Worline's death in the hospital at Hastings, Wednesday evening came as a great shock to us all as we had understood that she was recovering nicely from her illness and would soon be with us again. She underwent a minor operation Wednesday morning and seemed to have stood it well but shortly after dinner she became ill and about seven o'clock she passed away. The doctors believe it was the result of shock following the operation. Mrs. Worline was the sister of County Clerk B. F. Darnell and had lived in Minden most of her life. Her sunny disposition, her willingness to be of service, and kindnesses whenever the opportunity to do a good turn presented itself, endeared her to all of us and her passing leaves a place which must ever remain unfilled. She was 64 years of age. Mr. Worline passed away several years ago. Funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of her brothers Tom, of Enders, and Warnie, of McCook, Nebraska. Worline, who passed away at the Mary Lanning hospital, in Hastings, on Wednesday, July 23, was held from her home in Minden last Saturday afternoon, the Rev. S. B. Thomas conducting the service. Burial was made in the Minden cemetery, the members of the Order of the Eastern Star conducting their ritual service at the grave. A large number came to pay a last tribute to their departed friend and the beautiful floral tributes spoke mutely of the deep affection and high respect in which Mrs. Worline was held in this community. Ollie Boyd Worline, daughter of Valentine M. and Nancy E. Darnell was born in Armington, Tazewell county, Illinois, on February 3, 1868, being 62 years, 5 months and 20 days of age at her death. She came to Nebraska with her parents in 1878. They homesteaded near Wilcox where she grew to womanhood, attending the rural school and Franklin Academy at Franklin, Nebraska. After completing her schooling she taught several terms in rural schools, in Kearney county. On September 22, 1886, she was united in marriage with Dr. W. T. Boyd. For a number of years they lived in Colorado, moving from that state to Maryland, where Dr. Boyd passed away September 12, 1915. Four children were born to this union, three of whom died in infancy, one daughter, Mrs. Daisy Raphel, now lives in Towson, Maryland. She returned to Nebraska in 1916 to stay with her mother in Minden. In 1918 she was united in marriage with Mr. W. E. Worline. They made their home in Omaha until 1923, when they moved to Minden, which has since been her home. Mr. Worline passed away in 1927. Mrs. Worline united with the Episcopal church while living in Maryland with which denomination she still held membership. She was a member of Strong Circle No. 4, Ladies of the G. A. R., and of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a Past Matron and Grand Officer. She is survived by one daughter, Daisy Raphel, of Towson, Maryland, three brothers, Warnie D. of McCook, Thomas L. of Enders and Bert F., of Minden, Nebraska; four grand children, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In her passing we miss a friend who always greeted us with a smile and a word or two to brighten our day, who always was ready with a helping hand, a sympathetic heart, a kindly suggestion, to lighten our tasks, who set us an example by always doing her full duty in any undertaking.
