Born Feb. 3, 1924, near Athens, Mo., she was the daughter of Lon and Ruth Vice Gray. On May 26, 1943, she married Frank J. Schlicher. He died July 24, 1995. Mrs. Schlicher was a homemaker. She was owner of Schlicher Plumbing and a distributor for Valley Supply of Ottumwa. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield and Maxine Bates Circle. She enjoyed baking cookies for her family, grandchildren and friends and gardening. Survivors include three sons, Dale Schlicher of Farmington, David Schlicher of Fairfield and Daniel Schlicher of Brighton; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Gray of Donnellson. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 14 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the family present. The funeral for Mrs. Schlicher will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
