He is survived by his wife, Mrs Nonnie Hudson Monday of the home; a daughter Mrs. Norman (Janie) Blanchard of Floyd, Virginia; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mr. Richard Monday of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mr. Ophir Monday Jr. of Cana, Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Monday of Cana, Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Lila Jones of High Point, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Zephyr Monday of Mount Airy, N.C.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Airy Chapel of Gracewood Funeral Home with Elder Kenneth Hopkins and the Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Grover King V.F.W. Post No. 1115 of Hillsville, Virginia conducting full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00. Memorial donations may be made to the Cana Rescue Squad.
