Combs] COMBS, ORA MAE. SUGAR GROVE, Virginia. -- Ora Mae Combs, 66, passed away Thursday, Apr. 5, 2001, at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. She was born Dec. 4, 1934, at Troutdale, Virginia, to James Lafayette and Martha Dina Johnson Hawkins. Surviving: husband, Sherman Gayle Combs of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Dallas Chambers, Marion, and Elizabeth and Michael Aker, Sugar Grove; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman Jr. and Gayla Combs, Gwyn and Sue Combs, and Doug and Debbie Combs, all of Sugar Grove; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Edith Anderson, Troutdale, Geneva and Joe Davis, Newark, Delaware, Dottie Sines, Fruitland, Maryland, and Fay Rose, Marion; one brother and sister-in-law, Mac and Donna Hawkins, Troutdale; and 10 grandchildren also survive. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, with Rev. Fred E. Jennings and Rev. Kenneth Conner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Razor Ridge Cemetery, Troutdale. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, in charge of arrangements.
