Description	:	=========== Oren E. Yoder was born in rural Parnell, Iowa, the son of Abner and Mary Gingerich Yoder. He graduated from Green Center Rural school and earned his General Education Degree. Oren married Mary Kate Blosser on September 24, 1933 at the bride's home in South English. The couple farmed in the Parnell area until 1962 when they moved to Kalona. Oren traveled to Turkey on two occasions with the Mennonite Disaster Service to assist in the aftermath of a large earthquake. He graduated from Green Center Rural school and earned his General Education Degree. Oren married Mary Kate Blosser on September 24, 1933 at the bride's home in South English. The couple farmed in the Parnell area until 1962 when they moved to Kalona. Oren traveled to Turkey on two occasions with the Mennonite Disaster Service to assist in the aftermath of a large earthquake. Oren served as Administrator at the Pleasantview Home for one year and the Bedford Retirement Home for seven years. Oren was a member of the West Union Mennonite Church, Mennonite Disaster Service, the Lion's Club and the Kalona Koffee Klub. He enjoyed working on projects with Habitat for Humanity. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Parkview Manor or the Iowa City Hospice. Survivors include his wife Mary Kate of Wellman, three sons and spouses; Arlin and Mary Lou of Wichita, KS, Eldon and Phyllis of Ecuador, S.A., Darvin and Martha of Parnell, one daughter and spouse; Aldeen amd Eugene Wenger of Harrisonburg, VA, eight grandchildren; Doug, Kevin and Tony Yoder, Sherry Libby, Jennifer Wright, Kate Slater, Ben Yoder and Anna Geyer, and 12 great-grandchildren. Oren was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edwin and Gideon, one sister Katie Ellen and an infant son James Darvin.
