Evan was predeceased b his parents, Ethel Evans Hall and Orson Eli Hall, his loving wife of 54 years Eva, his sisters, Marjorie King, Usona McCartee, Fieta Wood and his brother Gordon Hall. Evan, was the third child of Ethel Evans and Orson Eli Hall. Evan was born on the family farm on July 9, 1911. His mother;s maiden name was Evans and that is how he got the name Evan. Evan was blessed with a gift for repairing things, machinery, tools, household appliances, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He also was very good with animals. On November 2, 1936 Evan married Eva Jensen. They lived that first winter on whatever Evan could earn by trapping animals and selling furs. He later worked in a honey factory, ran a grain elevator south of Conrad and when the Canadian Sugar Factory was built in Taber was hired and worked there until he retired. Evan and Eva were blessed with two children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Evan and Eva enjoyed squaredancing and Evan often called these dances. Once while in the hospital while suffering from heart failure he told the doctor he may be in ICU but he was feeling much better and needed to be released so that he could go call for a square dance that evening Evan and his sister Olive, won a Seniors competition in Coaldale doing the Seven-Step and Old Time Waltz. In 1991 Evan was honored as the Senior Citizen of the year. He has held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and left his lasting testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. All those that knew him was well aware of his love of fishing and hunting and that he always had a good joke to tell. His neiced and nephews all fondly remember him as always having time for them and always willing to help someone in need. In 1989 he lost his sweetheart Eva, of 54 years to cancer. He had been a devoted and loving husband. Never in 54 years of marriage do his children ever recall an unkind word being said to one another. They truely loved each other. In August of 1990 Evan married Stella Evanston (Eva's sister who had also been widowed) Evan and Stella had many happy years together, traveling, playing cards and assiciating with the famiy. As Evan's health started to fail him, Stella stood by his side caring for his every need. Although all who knew him will sadly miss him, his memory will live on with each of us. We will miss his smile, his jokes, his tender touch and all of his fishing stories. He's gone home. . .do you think you can fish in heaven??? Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. Taber Stake Center, 4822-53 Street, Taber, Alberta with Brother Mark Baldry officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday evening May 22 at the Taber Stake Centre from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service at the church.
