Monday, June 14, 2004 at the First Mennonite Church, R. Beatrice, NE. Oscar H. Reimer, 94 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital, Beatrice, NE. Friday afternoon, June 11, 2004. He was born on January 25, 1910 at Beatrice, NE. and lived in the Beatrice area his entire life. He was a 1930 graduate of Beatrice High School, Beatrice, NE. He and Anne Jantzen were married June 1, 1939 and passed away in 1973. He and Estella (Hill) White were married on January 3, 1981. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, R. Beatrice, NE. He enjoyed his work on the farm and the dairy, flowers and helping in the garden. Survivors include his wife Estella of Gladstone, MO.; son Norman E. Reimer and his wife Anita of Beatrice, NE.; 3 daughters, Naomi Unruh and her husband Donovan of N. Newton, Kansas, Jeanette Stucky and her husband Steve of Kingman, KS. and Joanne Penner and her husband Bob of Palm Springs, CA.; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 step sons Wallace White and his wife Deanna of Gladstone, MO. and Kenneth White and his wife Sandy of Rochester, N.Y.; and sister Margaret Friesen and her husband William of N. Newton, KS.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Abram and Marie (Penner) Reimer; wife Anne Reimer (1973); sisters Ella Reimer, Dora Eaton, Ruth Oswald, Louise Penner, and an infant twin sister Hedwig Reimer. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 14, 2004 at the First Mennonite Church, R. Beatrice, NE. with Reverends Weldon and Florence Schloneger officiating. Interment will be in the Mennonite Cemetery, R. Beatrice, NE. There will be no viewing. A register book will be available for signatures Sunday from 11-5:00 P.M. and Monday from 9-11:30 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 P.M. Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to the M.C.C. (Mennonite Central Committee) with Louie Esau Jr. and John Penner in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected] They will be forwarded to the family. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
