Mr. Elston served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the Alford-Clarke Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 14, Lawrence, as well as Mount Oread Aerie No. 309 F.O.E. He married Evelyn Gordon on Jan. 23, 1954, in Lawrence. She died April 22, 1999.
